Indian Tourism Congress (ITHC) is a non-political, non-commercial; organization of tourism. This organization was formed in 2002 by group of leading tourism academicians with the purpose of enhance the standard of teaching and research of those engaged in the academic institutions, to promote its orderly growth and development to cater the need of tourism industry.
Keeping in view the larger interest of members of tourism and hospitality academia, during 11th National Conference of ITC held on 5-6 April, 2014 in Manipur University, Imphal, Prof. Manjula Chaudhary, President - Indian Tourism Congress with the common consensus announced the amended name of Indian Tourism Congress to Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress (ITHC).
Now in future ITC will be known as ITHC.
Its' objectives are:
To promote and enrich tourism and hospitality education.
To encourage the orderly growth of tourism and hospitality educations.
To organize conferences, workshops, symposiums and seminars both at National and International level.
Every year there will be an Annual Conference of the congress known as Indian Tourism and Hospitality Conference. It may be attended by tourism and hospitality professionals/organizations besides its own members. The venue and timing of the successive annual conference will be announced at the valedictory function of the conference.
The host Institution may bring out a souvenir for organizing above events and collect funds through donation/advertisements in souvenir.
The congress may bring out an annual journal entitled "Indian Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management" and a newsletter. The congress will appoint an 'Editorial Board' for this purpose in its annual conference/meet.
To congress may also deal with any issues related to Tourism and Hospitality education.
